Support at Home program

Launched 1 November 2025

The new Support at Home program replaces Home Care Packages and the Short-Term Restorative Care Programme. It introduces classification levels, a services list, and quarterly budgets to help older Australians stay independent at home.

Changes to aged care fees and contributions

From 1 November 2025

Under the new Aged Care Act, participant contributions are calculated based on the type of service (clinical care, independence, or everyday living) and your individual means assessment. Clinical care remains fully government-funded.
